From Cropsey Home: "The Newington-Cropsey Foundation was founded in 1977 for the purpose of preserving and displaying the home and paintings of Jasper F. Cropsey (1823-1900), Hudson River School artist. The Cropsey home, Ever Rest, has been on the National Register of Historic Homes since the early 1970's. In 1994, the Gallery of Art was completed, enabling the foundation to display more of the permanent collection of Cropsey's paintings, in addition to providing exhibition space for temporary and traveling exhibits. "Alexander Calder, internationally famous by his mid-30s, is renowned for developing a new idiom in modern art - the mobile. His works in this mode, from miniature to monumental, are called mobiles (suspended moving sculptures), standing mobiles (anchored moving sculptures) and stabiles (stationary constructions). Calder's abstract works are characteristically direct, spare, buoyant, colorful and finely crafted. He made ingenious, frequently witty, use of natural and manmade materials, including wire, sheetmetal, wood and bronze.

Kendall Sculpture Gardens - Arnaldo Pomodoro

Since the mid-1970s, Pomodoro has continued to gain renown for his unique engagement with fundamental geometric shapes, notably the column, cube, pyramid, sphere, and disc. His massive architectonic forms suggest a continual process of self-destruction and regeneration. His work has been the subject of numerous exhibitions at major museums.

David Wynne, a British sculptor born in Lyndhurst, Hampshire on May 25, 1926 is known for his sculptures of figures, animals, and portraits. He was educated at Stowe School, served in the Royal Navy during World War II, and read Zoology at Trinity College in Cambridge. He was awarded the OBE in 1994.
