Madam Brett Park
Beacon, Dutchess County Hudson River Valley, New York State From Scenic Hudson: "Madam Brett Park hugs Fishkill Creek, which played a prominent role in Beacon's development. Along it stood a gristmill owned by the park's namesake — Catheryna Rombout Brett (1687-1764), the first European settler in the present-day city. The mill was an important gathering place for farmers and Native Americans inhabiting both shores of the Hudson River hereabouts. In the 1800s, the creek powered a profusion of hat factories (including the Tioronda Hat Works, located in the brick building adjacent to the park), which earned Beacon the nickname "New York's Hat-Making Capital.

The Hyde Park Station, 34 River Road (Riverside Park), Hyde Park NY 12538, Dutchess County in the Hudson Valley. A station was built at this location around 1851, when the Hudson River Railroad was constructed from New York City to Albany. That structure was torn down and replaced by the current station in 1914. The last regularly-scheduled New York Central passenger train stopped there in 1958. Antique Motorcycle Club of America 6550 Spring Brook Ave Rhinebeck, NY 12572 Dutchess County Any club member with a motorcycle that is 35 years old or older is eligible for judging at AMCA national meets. The Antique Club has established authenticity as the most important factor in determining quality of an antique motorcycle, i.e. “as it left the factory”. A great deal of time has been devoted to the development and refinement of a universal judging system as well as the training of a panel of qualified judges. Motorcycles compete against the judging form, not against other machines. In addition to the high-caliber judging awards for Junior, Senior and Winners’ Circle, recognition awards are also given for the oldest motorcycle on the field, for the three motorcycles ridden the greatest distance to the meet, Period-Modified, and for uniqueness, as considered by the judges.

Staatsburgh is the elegant country home of Ogden Mills and his wife Ruth Livingston Mills. Sitting atop a grassy hill overlooking the Hudson River and the Catskill Mountains, their house is a fine example of a great estate built by America's financial and industrial leaders during the Gilded Age (1876 - 1917). Also known as the American Renaissance, this period in American history was marked by America's rapid economic growth and emergence as a world power. Darius Ogden Mills, father of Ogden Mills, established the family fortune by investing in banks, railroads and mines. Ogden Mills, like his father, was a noted financier and philanthropist. In 1882 he married Ruth Livingston, whose family had been prominent landowners in the Hudson Valley since the 17th century. In 1890, Ruth Livingston Mills inherited her childhood home and property which had once belonged to her great-grandfather, Morgan Lewis, the third governor of New York State.
